well I am bi-polar and decided I hated talking to people about it. I analyzed my past and found the tings that would most likely set off an attack and try to avoid those situations. Some will tell you that counseling is a must, but that depends on ones determination, and I am very determined. Also a down fall of those meds is once treatment is stopped or changes the symptoms often times become worse than original, something I personally couldn't risk.

Always try to keep your mind strong, pure, perfect, peaceful and happy. This is itself sufficient throughout your life.
All those actions which against the above interest, try to avoid. Get fully involved in all the actions that promotes your mental stability.

You need to eat right and leave the sugars out! The next thing is exercising. So diet and exercise are the primary ways,
I too live with depression everyday. Keeping a positive attitude, and taking my medicines on time each day.
The hardest part is when we are at rock bottom to keep our heads up and hearts in tune with God. Just remember this Will not last forever and we will feel good again. I just give into the bad times because I know that I will feel better real soon. That is what keeps me going.
Keeping a positive is also very healthy. Surround yourself with good sound friends that will understand and accept your illness and support you when you are going through a difficult time. Many will not understand and those are the ones you just stay away from because they can bring you down.
