Mental Health vs Exercise?

Mental Health vs Exercise? So, I know all the talk about exercise will make you feel better mentally. But what if you are having a hard time just making it through everyday tasks like keeping house (moderately clean) basic grooming, cooking dinner, and even getting out of bed. How do you get the energy and focus to even begin to think about exercise as something else that needs to be done during the day?

I'm asking because I have Bipolar. I've had it since I was 13 (am 28 now) and I'm currently at a point where its not very stable. My medications are being changed and I have gained about 30-40 pounds since the summer because of meds and depression. I feel like I'm hitting a brick wall. Exercise would probably make me feel better/help me lose a few pounds BUT I can barely get through my day.

Has anyone else struggled with this? Should I force myself to exercise (which I'm not sure I can do at this point) or should I really just worry about getting stable first and then worry about the exercising?

Thanks!
EDIT: This isn't a question about diet. I've figured that part out. Its about balancing a mental illness and exercise. Read the question.
EDIT: I strongly suggest no one with a diagnosed mental illness quit taking their medication WHATSOEVER!!! You not only will become unstable again but you will not FEEL ANY BETTER!!! When you want to asscociate people who murder with people with mental illness, look at the ones who have gone off their meds!!!! Bad idea. Poor poor advice. You wouldn't tell someone with lung cancer to just jog around the block and they'll be cured right? Sickos.

Drink 7 glasses of water, it actually helps! I'm saying from experience. And yes go back to exercising!
Be happy. Try to get back to your old self.

Exercise is 1000x better than those pills. Go run till you throw up or at least till your doubled over in pain. Its like all your depression is destroyed by your physical discomfort. Your not depressed because your to busy thinking, "God this hurts." The more pain you put yourself through the better you feel. I know that statement goes against itself, but I swear it's true.
