Meera Narasimhan, MD is a Professor of Psychiatry and the Vice Chair Research and Scientific Initiatives in the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She also serves as the Director of Research Initiatives for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Dr. Narasimhan is on the Clinical Trials Council for Health Sciences South Carolina and served as the Co Chair of the Strategic Planning Research Expansion Task force for USC-SOM. Dr. Narasimhan attended medical school at the Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India. She completed her residency training in psychiatry at Yale University Department of Psychiatry and went on to complete a fellowship in psychopharmacology at Yale. Dr. Narasimhan is widely published in peer reviewed journals including The Archives of General Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Primary Care Companion, Current Psychiatry, Current Psychiatry Reports, Journal of Depression and Anxiety just to name a few.
