Well, I did it. Haven't spoken to my mother and stepfather in almost 20 years. I left while I was still in high school, I did the whole foster home thing, so it was rough for a bit. But I ended up with a great circle of friends, so I was lucky there. It all just comes down to the fact that nobody needs toxic people in their life, and they were (and still are) toxic. It can be difficult, sure, but for me, it all worked out for the best. I wish you well......

Heyy
I decided after college i would cut them off completely as well. I feel they just dont understand me. Especially since my mother hasnt been in my life for 11 years [[I am 15]] And yes i know im a teen but dont think i am naive. I know that most teens dont like their parents at all but sometimes when me and my father [who i live with and my little brother] get into screaming at the top of our lungs fights it gets too hard to handle. And theyve been happening more and more often now. And i hate that everytime i do something bad my mother has to get into it. Like where is she all the times i do something good? I sometimes feel she has no right to be yelling at me and telling me all my punishments when she hasnt been around for 11 years! And she is NOT perfect. She does drugs was an alchoholic. Had 4 kids with 3 different men. Has bi polar disease. Addicted to prescription pills. She just doesnt have the right. Im sorry im getting carried away. Anyway, i honestly feel that once im done with college I won't need them.
