My dad had bipolar disorder. He worked for a plastic testing company in Darwin [we're in Melbourne, now]. He had a breakdown and his company ignored it, and as a result of his suicide, I, as his only remaining child, receive a couple of dollars every month in exchange for the life of my father.
It's blood money to me, so it's going to go to one of the few morally uncorrupted charities still in existence.
I don't know about England, the US or Japan's corporate attitudes to such an illness, but I hope this helped a little.
