I know a good book for that and best of all it's free. Simply go to www.emofree.com and download their free Ebook called Emotional Freedom Techniques. They are simple to learn and have really helped me over the years since I have learned them.

The Courage to Heal by Bass and Davis is the classic book on recovery from childhood sexual abuse. I use it with clients and so do most of the therapists I supervise and it has a workbook that goes with it. It's excellent and I could not recommend any book more than this.
One word of caution, however-when working on this it is best to work with a therapist as they can help process memories and feelings that begin to surface with you and help you with containment and self-soothing techniques. Regardless, whether you choose to pursue this alone or with a therapist for support, be sure to pace yourself in working through the book. Set aside a certain amount of time each day or a few days per week, but limit the time and stick with it. It is very easy to get overwhelmed which leads to obsessive reading and processing which is very triggering or total avoidance after one becomes overwhelmed. Moderation is key-and as Christine Courtois (another excellent author with tons of experience in this area-she runs the specialized in-patient program in Maryland for survivors needing hospitalization) would say "pace and contain"!

"I can't get over it--A trauma Survivor's handbook" by Aphrodite Matsakis Ph.D. is one of the best I've read.

THE best I've read is "The Courage to Heal", However I would not suggest that one if you do not have a therapist or psychiatrist or if you have no solid supportive friends. This particular book is extremely good but it is also very hard to read as it has the tendancy to bring up a lot of memories and pain.

I consider myself a pretty strong person and I had a good therapist (the one who suggested I read the book) and I had to purchase three of them because I'd get so upset I'd throw the book across the room *laughs* I also didn't follow instructions and put the book down when I noticed myself getting upset. (I dont like to quit and I hated feeling weak)

I would suggest getting councelling most. Books truly are great and can assist a great deal in healing but nothing compares with having a therapist to help you.
