Now let's jump ahead to March of 2011. It has been over a year and a half since they used the medication. The issue was so minor that is really wasn't a problem at all. It was literally just a one time thing that came out of nowhere.
He ships out at the end of March.
Since this person has been off of meds, and BARELY used any in the first place, for so long can it affect them later on?
I know the military has some kind of rule about medication, and how long you have been on and off it. He is in the Air Force, btw.
So is there any problems? Obviously he is already in and did MEPS and has been in DEP since October of 2010.
I keep on reading about the military NOT checking medical records. Since over 50K go through basic each year, and it is a ridiculous process to go through so many medical records.
Can something so minor hurt him later on? And let's just assume he doesn't show any symptoms in basic. Which he probably wont/.
anxiety that lasted for a short period of time and hasn't come back for OVER a year and a half.

if it was given to him by a PhD or anyone licensed to prescribe that drug and it was on his medical record and he did not try to hide it he will be ok. Key point everything had to be legal.

I am sure he will be fine. However if he or she was to try to use the issue later as coming from being in the military, that will be a different story. Because then they will find it. If he has docs to prove he no longer needed it (the meds) he should just keep those docs. I hope all is well for him and he can make a great career out of this.

Howdy.
What was the mental health issue? I mean there are so many different possibilities. You probably wont know if there is any problem until it just happens. For example, I had a dog that had a history of massive seizures when he got too excited. My Vet. perscribed him medication that he was to take once daily for only 6 months. After the 6 month duration, I took my Dog back to the Vet. for another check up and I was told the seizures should happen very rarely if at all. Two months later I woke up one morning and my Dog was dead on the couch.
I figured he was probably hit with another Seizure, a fatal one apparently, but that was just my guess.
All you can do is wait and see what happens.
