Can mental health prevent me from being a nurse? ?hi, I am currently studying at uni to be an adult nurse. when I started everything was fine. however I have recently approached my Gp as I have been feeling really low and am cutting as a result. I know that a referral has been made to a mental health team so I that all of this will now be on my records.
so here's my question; is it complusary to inform my uni / occupational health department of this and will this affect me when I apply for a job when I qualify in a year and a half ?
thanks to anyone who replys x

Yes it is compulsary to inform potential employers and occupational health because you'd be working with vulnerable people.
Nurses are required to wear short sleeved nursing tops. If you've been cutting your arms then the scars will show.
