Mental Health: Doctor refered me to Mental Health Team still no letter from them?

Doctor refered me to Mental Health Team still no letter from them?My doctor refered me to a mental health team and he said to wait about 2 weeks for the letter to come through, I still have no letter and this week is the third week? What should I do and does anyone else have experience of this and remembers when their letter turned up?

Sometimes things go a little slower than we expect in those offices. I would take the time to call the mental health office he referred you to and ask if they received the referral. I am sure they would be happy to let you know what is happening. If they didn't receive the referral, then call your doctor's office and let them know.

2 weeks sounds reasonable as the specialists from the Mental Health need to review and assess your situation after the consultation.

Since it's 3 weeks and no letter, I would suggest that you contact the Mental Health Record office to check with the staff regarding the status of the letter.

If he/she said that the letter is still not available, seek his/her assistance to check with the specialist whom you consulted.

Another solution would be to drop a letter to the hospital that you were referred to.
