Inland is a $ 2 billion Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), listed on the NYSE, which owns medium-sized shopping centers. As an Independent Director, he serves on the Audit Committee.

He serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Public Administration Program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Burris contributed $ 20,000 to Blagojevich, and his "consulting firm" has gotten $ 300,000 in lucrative state business, and now he gets a Senate seat, to boot.

A public official has a business that conducts business with the state?
Isn't that unethical in itself?

Would he be a good replacement if Pres. Obama was impeached? Well, that's up to the voters. Because at this point, Mr. Burris, even if he is seated as the US Senator from Illinois, which seems likely, is nowhere near the line of succession.
