Any leads for finding a psychiatrist who will work on a sliding scale?Specifically in the Los Angeles area, but more likely, any directories or databases. I don't have mental health coverage and I've been 'rejected' by community mental health centers on the basis that I have a job. Unfortunately, I don't have a job that allows me to pay $ 200/hr for private psychiatry...

You need to call you local psychiatry outpatient place and talk to them. There's one by where I live and they do it. I think they're everywhere.

You can contact your county's Department of Mental Health (below) and explain your situation and what you are looking for and they should be able to give you some good referrals to some psychiatrists that match your situation.
Good luck!
