Should I become a teacher or holistic mental health worker?

Should I become a teacher or holistic mental health worker? My childhood dream was to be a teacher as working with kids satisfies me emotionally and i have lots of experience with kids. But when i actually taught for 1.5 yrs in public schools I found myself exhausted. I never yet earned my credential. As an adult I took up spiritual life and wanted a career more in tune with my yoga and meditation practices. For two yrs I have been working at a mental health center and teaching yoga meditation and nutrition as part of the job. This is satisfying spiritually but this severely mentally ill population burns me out. I feel I have to earn some higher degree or I will be stuck just barely making ends meet for the rest of my life (I am 33). But I can't decide which way to go. Holistic therapist or teacher. Working with kids seems necessary for my emotional health yet doing spiritual work seems necessary for my inner happiness. Going into 60,000 debt is also not appealing to me and seems like a big scam of society that we have to go into such big debt in order to take a career that is in the service of humanity. What to do - any tips?

I vote for the mental health choice. There's a desparate need out there that is certainly going to escalate because of all the problems in this modern society. You'll have a secure job for life, it is sure to be very rewarding personally, and you'll be bringing help and hope to those who need it most.
