For mental health, you definately want and need to take folic acid. Folic acid helps the baby not to have any kind of mental retardation.

Yes, folic acid. You can find it in green, leafy vegetables. Your body actually needs it before you become pregnant.

yes, folic acid is what your body needs now. and it lowers the risk of your baby having brain and spinal cord defects. if you can't take vegetables, try taking Sundown's Folic Acid Xtra. that's what i take instead.

Take a prenatal vitamin once a day. They have the dose you need of folic acid as well as everything else for a pregnant body. Also, take care of your stress level. Believe it or not, your stress will affect your baby's level of "mental" health. Eat right. Avoid the obvious (drugs and alcohol). Drink tons and tons of water (you need more than the average person when you are pregnant). EXERCISE! These were all the things my OB/GYN told me to do when I was pregnant.
