No matter who he works for, he chose his profession. You can't help it that he has a case oveload.
With psychiatric help, I don't think there is such thing as "too much". They are there to help you and without all the details of your problems, how can they help you?

Dont tell him if you plan to physically harm someone. Since there required by law to report it to the police.
Anything else is ok.
