having a really bad day n had abuse on here that my illness dont exsist in other countries and to get over myself.
Im sure this is how most people feel about us/ me, that im a liar? It not the first time to be accused of that.
Why is this stigma allowed to continue? its not fair, my so called friends make out that other illnesses r worse than what i have etc. How can that not make u feel worse about urself, tho im sure he didnt intentionally make me feel even more like shit.
Cannot bear the stigma!

Hmm,well ''normal'' ppl dont/cant understand what u r going through, and they'll never will because they dont know how it feels to be ill,and they dont know what u have to go through everyday to survive,so let them say whatever they want. Maybe they r just jealous, cause u r stronger than them, maybe they wont be able to cope with what u have. Dont listen to them!!

People are afraid of things they don't understand, things they can't change or avoid solely by their actions, and they can be incredibly stupid about making bold 'knowing' statements and opinions about most anything, even topics about which they are more profoundly ignorant. In fact, fear, ignorance, bigotry, prejudice, and profoundly unmerited vanity and self-confidence is the major part of what it is to be human. If you want proof, spend an hour watching chimps in the zoo and understand that about 98-99% of our genome is identical to theirs, then watch how their behaviors are very much like those of the schoolyard or family reunion. Ask yourself how many chimps OR humans discovered the Laws of gravity, or REALLY understand and use them to their benefit. My bet is the chimps come off pretty well.
So, why should you accept a self-inflated ignorant pompous-ahole's assessment about you and your medical condition as being important to you in any way? People ENJOY watching monkey antics and don't choose to accept ANY of it as having any serious bearing upon their own understanding of their illnesses or personal reality. They certainly wouldn't allow a chimp to persuade them to stop taking medications or seeking treatment for tuberculosis or cancer! Statements of prejudice and bigotry are also just so much more noise unless you choose to internalize them. Choose NOT to, and try to remember who it is who accepts you for who you are and who supports you in your efforts to improve your health and your experience of the world and choose to spend more time with them, and to spend less time with or even listening to the other team which doesn't realize that every time they open their mouths the reveal that their teachers mentally placed cone-hats on their heads while attempting to educate them.
Stigmas continue because people are simply highly-evolved, but also still also incredibly ignorant animals despite how differently we live from our nearest primate relations. It's not fair and it's not pretty. BUT, you can choose to spend more time with the SOCIALLY-EVOLVED and the EDUCATED or those willing to learn and those willing to empower and support their associates as opposed to those who act out the worst legacies of their hairier forbears. They're ill-informed idiots who don't deserve your thoughts or time. And that's REALLY the only useful answer I can give you other than that if you look, you'll find the right people to associate with and to teach by sharing your experiences. Good Luck in your hunt.
