Mental Health: Is there a difference between a mental institution and a mental hospital?

Is there a difference between a mental institution and a mental hospital?I always thought that a mental institution was for more severe patients who had to stay longer at a mental health facility. Like months. And a mental hospital typically is only 2 weeks. That's what I thought.

People live in Institutions but in a hospital its for more temporary situations. So yea, your right:)
