HELP!!! Mental Health Centres?

HELP!!! Mental Health Centres?I am thinking about going to a mental health centre that is attached to a main hospital and I was wondering about what would happen to me while I was there? Like Physical Exams?, talking to the doctors, tests, etc. At what stage would they suggest to you that you should be admitted, and if you do what will happen then and how likely is it that you will get admitted?

Can someone please Help, I am scared about going but my friend has suggested I need to go becasue I have major depression and none of the treatments I have been on in the last 9 months have worked.

So Please help I am working myself up and I want to know why I am worrying, and if I am worrying about nothing
I am in Australia, I believe you can just walk into at least the emergency department of a hosptial.

yes all hospitals have to take u even when it is mental not physical i 2 have been in ur place went to mental hospital best thing i could have done for myself they do not do anything physical to u except weigh u for dose on meds. I highly recomend u call ur shrink first and c what he/she recomends if u have 1. goodluck there really is a light at the end of the tunnel, and there really ppl who care even if they dont know u.
