i think the reason poeple seem to place such a taboo on mental health issues is because of the immense perssure to appear perfect and to be part of the mainstream. in our world today, individualism is condemned while conformity is seen as a good thing which i think is totally wrong

I think most people don't accept it cause its in your head so they don't really see you as having a problem the way a guy with one leg has a problem. They probably feel that you should "just not think that way" Just my guess.

i think it is because as a person that is living with mental health instead of making mental health my life;...........people as a mass norm, know how they want to deal with everyday people.no challenges not bumps, but to talk with some with a mental health issue we are unsure of the way we are reacted to a mentally challenged person.crazy as sounds you talk to more people with mental issue then ya know.good luck finding your answer.you "DID"just interact with a mentally crazy person......p.s.we can be the most fun at a party too.lol
Orignal From: can people tell me why as a society we are not accepting of mental health issues.?
