Difference between mental health problem and mental illness/disorder?

Difference between mental health problem and mental illness/disorder?I remember about 2 years ago my psychology teacher listed all these psychiatric conditions and classified them as either a mental health problem or a mental illness/disorder. Obviously the term 'mental illness' has a more serious connotation, but which disorders are under which. Definition wise, how do i distinguish between the two?

there's no need to bother yourself with all that, unless you're trying to find out which disorder you fit into...lol
Only a medical doctor can determine by tests which mental illness someone has (which one fits the definition), and even then there could be different levels of the disorder.

Well i reckon there is organic brain illness, which requires surgery / maybe drugs - although i personally think they fix jack-sh*t.
Then theres problems in the 'mind' that are none organic, which 99.99999% of doctors think can be cured with drugs - which again is a load of cack.
Theres some awesome tools out there for mind issues, the best which is EMDR - which is awesome.

I think it's because not all mental health problems are mental disorders. For example, shows like Dr. Phil. You see people who seem to be doing things that are obviously harmful to them and loved ones. Most are from thinking a certain way and can be changed by readjusting one's thinking (cognitive). Mental illness/disease/disorder, on the other hand, is where something physiologically is happening in the brain causing a person to feel and act a certain way. It is not fully in their control b/c their brain is the organ that is diseased or lacking a chemical component.
