Peter - why not leave the ocean sounds in place? They will not hurt the outcome of your test.
In responce to your question, you will have a VERY hard time to remove the ocean sounds because:
1) they are not constant, the sound changes
2) they are wide spectrum, meaning you can't just isolate their frequency and cut them off.
I've done plenty of audio editing. This is nearly impossible.
