Would my psychiatrist have to tell my parents about going into an adolescent mental health unit?

Would my psychiatrist have to tell my parents about going into an adolescent mental health unit?If I was to go into an adolescent mental health hospital due to certain circumstances, such as hearing voices and self harming as well as paranoid thoughts... Would I have to see my parents before I went into the hospital, or could I wait till I was at the hospital before I could see my parents?
As I would prefer to be somewhere safe, like the hospital, before I saw my parents and faced their reactions
EDIT:
I am 16 years old and seeing a psychiatrist for depression.

you are only 16 so i think the psych would have to have your parents permission before you were admitted to hospital

why would u not want your parents to know are you afraid of how will they react?

they im sure will just want the best for you

best wishes

They won't put you in the hospital for that anyway... they don't usually put you in the hospital unless you are a danger to yourself or someone else........ They'll just change up your meds.
