free/ low cost mental health rural area?i live in north west tn and suffer from bipolar... ive tried to find mental heath resources near me and its been difficult...there was one gov funded facility about 30 mins north of me and i did go for over a year but then i started having problems...i would show up for appts and wait 30 min to an hour just to be told i cant be seen that day (happen 3x in a row) then the wrong script was sent in to pharmacy repeated times i had to call and go in 6 times in 3 months for them to fix it...the last straw was when my therapist told me maybe i shouldnt be in therapy if i was having such a hard time and when i asked my dr who i get my meds from (same building btw) about how i should feel (i felt emotionally more stable...but the rapid thinking got worse) and if that meant i have the right meds or not she told me that was a question for the therapist! i know that that facility is actually under investigation right now due to the number of complaints and over medicating of patients but i cant find anyplace else within 2 hrs of where i live what should i do? we have no united way or other assistance service in the area and im at risk of losing my job because of my episodes... lately been suicidal and dont want to talk to an 800 number and the local hospital wont help...they are small with no services availible.
thanks patricia but we dont have 211 this county doesnt have a health dept and the closest one is the one that funds the center i had problems with... im spirialing down now and freakingout the last 2 hrs i have combed the internet but w/out money... it looks like im SOL...

I'm sorry you are having all of these problems. I'll offer some suggestions, but I don't know if they are available in your area since you didn't indicate what county you live in.
If you have 211, call it and explain your problem.
If not, call the county health department and ask if they can refer you to a different therapist.
If that doesn't work, make an appointment with your physician to talk. Tell her you need to see a different therapist, and can she refer you to someone. Explain that you have had multiple problems with your existing therapist, and you think it is time to change.
I hope you can get some help. Don't wait, call tomorrow.
