I used to work for a mental health team. You'll probably have a long first meeting with their psychiatrist and then meet your case manager. Once you're doing pretty stable, you'll just see the doc when needed and the case manager will want to check up on you once a month or so. It's no biggie. There may be additional therapy classes or something you have the option of taking

A mental health team makes sure all your mental health and entitlement needs (Medicaid, applying for SSDI) and housing needs are met. If you are in substandard, unsafe housing, too poor to pay electricity or for medications, need psychotherapy (talk therapy) and what kind (do you have, e.g., post-traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, schizophrenia) and need medication, wherein you will need a psychiatrist and a diagnosis--all of this should be addressed. When you get your letter, it may list a number of documents you need to bring with you (Social Security card, recent electricity bill, bank statements, etc.).
I wouldn't be anxious. The members of the team are there to help you solve a whole bunch of problems quickly and to your benefit. They know you are depressed, and don't expect you to be in tip-top form.
Good luck to you!!! Don't worry!
