Why would a mental health office tell a suicidal person to come back in a month?

Why would a mental health office tell a suicidal person to come back in a month?Three times I have been to the mental health department of a local hospital and told them I am suicidal. There answer to me was no appointments available to see a medicine speciaist, come back in a month! Lately I have been running knives, nails, finger nail files down my right wrist. I don't think I can wait a month...

That hospital needs to be sued! If you are suicidal then you need to get help. Talk to someone in your family NOW!! Or a best friend.

Answer by Strange question...
Try somewhere else? Call a hotline and get some help? Why do you leave it up to only one place to help you?
