Are there ANY PROGRAMS out there for PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP WITH MENTAL HEALTH WHO DO NOT have HEALTH INSURANCE?Is there any mental health programs for people in need of mental health help. Who do not have health insurance and not a lot of money?

Depending where you live. There are local programs which you can apply. (Another reason we need healthcare reform. It is a Christian way!) You may need to contact a social worker. It is difficult to pinpoint what kind of help since I don't know where you are. The city I live has a county low cost/free program for mental health. The best way to do is to contact any volunteer clinic and they usually have social workers.

I would call you're local psychiatric hospital and ask. I would HOPE so!! I'm sure medicade and ssi would help if you are diagnosed with a disorder.

when i was younger i went to MH-MR for a few months for mental health counseling. the fee was on a sliding scale according to your salary. i didn't have a job so it was free. i don't know how they do it now but i'd think it's still cheap.
btw. i hated the therapist. yrs. later.went to a new therapist. hated him on the first visit and never went back.
found self help therapy techniques in books and fixed myself. spent about $ 40 on books.

All counties in the United States (well, sometimes it's two or three counties in thinly populated areas) have a Mental Health/Mental Retardation Agency, the purpose of which is to see that people who need mh/mr services can get them. They may provide the service themselves on a sliding scale basis or contract with other agencies to provide the service on a sliding scale; call your local agency and they will tell you how to get in touch with the service providers. Alternatively, you can call your local United Way; they often provide funding for agencies providing counseling at low cost. Family Service Agencies, Catholic Charities, Jewish Family Services and Lutheran Social Services, as well as other religious entities, often provide low cost, sliding scale counseling.
