What are the chances of receiving a medical waiver for mental health for the Army National Guard?I am interested in joining the Army National Guard, and I qualify for OCS because I have a master's degree. In fact, I obtained a 4.0 GPA during my graduate program. I am also physically fit and currently meet the minimum standards for physical fitness. However, during graduate school, I sought counseling and was put on medication to stabilize my mood. I have been off medication for two years and have no subsequent problems. I'm wondering, what are my chances for receiving a medical waiver for mental health? I have been reading online that they are very difficult to obtain. When I apply for a waiver, will I have the opportunity to relay my side of this?
