Is it true that tanning can positively influence your mental health?

Is it true that tanning can positively influence your mental health?I know that tanning is famous for its bad effects, but I've heard that it can also have positive effects on mental health. I used to always feel happier after going tanning for a little while, possibly because it feels like bathing in the sun. Has anyone else felt this way or read about the mental health effects of tanning?

idk, but i think dying of cancer would be pretty bad for your mental health.

i know that ppl can get depressed if they don't get enough sun, but you can make up for that with a light box thingy that doesn't have the harmful uv rays, so that would b better than tanning.

sunlight can, I'm not so sure about fake and bake.

Instead of tanning use a special light made just for SADD. You can find them on the internet. It is a lot safer than tanning and will make you feel happier.

Yes it helps with depression.. You only need a few minutes a couple of times a week.. I have been doing it for 20 years and I don't even have wrinkles yet;-)

The "light box" is made from the same UVB lights as a tanning bed.

Tanning beds can have a definite effect on mental state, after you've developed melanoma, which is the deadliest form of skin cancer.
There is a condition called SAD (seasonal affective disorder), which is a type of depression that occurs when people don't get enough daylight, such as the long nights in Alaska, especially. It's suggested that if you don't get outside enough, at least sit by a window the the blinds open. We were built to be outside more....
