Is there anything relating to this issue in the Mental Health Parity law that was passed recently.
What if someone was committed in hospital by a court in the past?
Thanks

Being mentally ill, and being found mentally incomptent by a court of law, are two very different things.
Also, I am willing to bet that those laws have been declared unconstitutional.

The entire country is sick for the most part, having been sucked into the mainstream media's version of what is happening in this world as a result of our involvement with it, so yes, mentally ill people are obviously allowed to vote.

The entire city of Berkeley CA voted.
Does that answer your question?

I think this is Discrimination against the Mentally Ill. What does being depressed have to do with voting for a President?

Being mentally ill, and being incompetent, are two different issues.
To use the example from the poster above me, one could be severely depressed, but still competent to make your own decisions.
Competence, however, is just that - it means that a court has examined you, and has determined that you are NOT competent to make your own decisions - including the decision as to who you would like to see as President.
If mental illness alone were enough, the thousands of Liberals suffering from "Bush Derangement Syndrome" couldn't have voted for Obama, and we'd now have President McCain.
